Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, creative, and differentiated lessons aligned with the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum.

• Foster a nurturing and positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and confidence.

• Focus closely on early literacy, including robust delivery of Phonics (e.g., Little Wandle, Read Write Inc.).

• Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.

• Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, and the wider school community.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

• Proven experience teaching in Key Stage 1 (KS1) or Early Years (EYFS), with a strong focus on the Year 1 curriculum.

• Excellent knowledge and confident delivery of early reading and Phonics programmes.

• Effective classroom management skills paired with a warm, encouraging approach.

• A valid Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
