Choice Teachers is working with one of our Herts for Learning partner schools. They are currently seeking a dedicated Textiles Teacher to join their successful and supportive department. The school, located in West Herts, prides itself on its popularity and is situated within spacious and leafy grounds.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have a Textiles Specialism, but we will be delighted to discuss candidates’ experience at interview.

The school can offer the successful candidate bespoke CPD, a supportive ECT framework (for those starting in the profession), as well as a competitive salary (with London fringe) and a children of staff admission policy. This position is advertised as both full and part time (if part time, a 0.8 basis).

Job Duties:

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and interactive Textiles lessons
• Assess and evaluate students’ progress, providing constructive feedback
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the department’s curriculum
• Participate in school events and extracurricular activities

Required Qualifications:

• Degree in Textiles or related field
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)

Education:

• Degree in Textiles or related field

Experience:

• Experience teaching Textiles at secondary level
• Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students

Knowledge and Skills:

• Excellent communication skills
• Enthusiastic and flexible approach to teaching
• Punctual and reliable
• Inspirational teaching style
• Initiative and passion for education

Preferred Qualifications:

• Specialism or additional qualification in Textiles
