Job Title: Teacher of MFL (Modern Foreign Languages)
Location: Welling, South East London

Choice Teachers are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages to join a high-achieving secondary school in the Welling area from September 2025.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant and supportive department that values language learning and cultural diversity. The ability to teach French and/or Spanish to Key Stage 3 and 4 is essential; Key Stage 5 experience is desirable but not required.
Main Areas of Responsibility

Deliver a broad and engaging MFL curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 teaching available for suitable candidates).

Create an inspiring and inclusive learning environment to help students achieve their full linguistic potential.

Monitor, support, and challenge student progress through excellent subject teaching and pastoral support.

Contribute to the development of the MFL department’s curriculum, resources, and teaching strategies.

Support the wider aims of the school including academic achievement and cultural enrichment.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging and creative MFL lessons in line with national curriculum requirements.

Use effective assessment techniques to track and support student progress.

Participate in departmental planning, meetings, and school-wide initiatives.

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Promote a love of languages and international awareness.

Support the personal development of students as a form tutor.

Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement.
The Ideal Candidate Will:

Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a degree in a relevant language or linguistics field.

Have experience teaching French and/or Spanish at secondary level (KS3 and KS4).

Possess strong subject knowledge and a passion for language education.

Be confident using modern teaching methods, including ICT and interactive tools.

Be an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills.

Be able to work collaboratively within a team-focused environment.

Be committed to promoting high standards and positive outcomes for all students.
