Job Title: Teacher of History

Choice Teachers are currently looking for a passionate and committed Teacher of History to join a thriving secondary school in the Welling area from September 2025.

Main Areas of Responsibility

Deliver a broad, balanced and differentiated History curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Provide a learning experience that enables students to reach their individual academic potential.

Monitor and support student progress both in subject teaching and through pastoral care as a form tutor.

Contribute to raising standards of teaching and learning within the department.

Support the wider mission of the school in promoting academic excellence and personal development.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with the curriculum.

Develop schemes of work and resources as part of strategic departmental planning.

Engage in staff development and performance management reviews.

Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement.

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Fulfil form tutor duties and support the pastoral development of students.

Ensure a safe, inclusive and positive classroom environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
-
Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a degree in History or a related subject.

Have experience teaching History at secondary level (KS3 & KS4).

Demonstrate sound knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective pedagogy.

Be passionate about raising student aspirations and outcomes.

Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

Be confident using technology to enhance learning.

Be organised, proactive, and able to work well as part of a team.

Communicate effectively with pupils, parents and external stakeholders.
