Choice Teachers, working in partnership with Herts for Learning, is supporting a well-regarded school in the Hemel Hempstead area in their search for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join them on a 1-year fixed contract starting as soon as possible.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual with experience in primary education, ideally with confidence in delivering phonics-based learning. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact by supporting pupils with special educational needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Support students with SEN across EYFS or primary key stages

Deliver phonics sessions and literacy-based interventions

Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo

Contribute to the planning and delivery of tailored support strategies

Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
Ideal Candidate:
-
Background in primary education
-
Experience supporting children with SEN
-
Confident teaching phonics (e.g., Read Write Inc., Letters and Sounds)

Patient, caring, and proactive
-
DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
