We are currently seeking a caring, proactive, and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in either SEN specialist schools or mainstream primary schools in the Kilburn and Camden areas of North West London. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities, helping them to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with SEN, assisting with their educational, social, and emotional needs.
- Work closely with class teachers to deliver individualised learning plans and activities.
- Support children with a range of SEN including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and speech and language needs.
- Encourage positive behaviour and help create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment.
- Assist with personal care and mobility where necessary, ensuring students are safe and comfortable.
- Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required.
- Promote the development of social skills, communication, and emotional resilience in children with SEN.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs (preferably in a classroom or similar setting).
- A positive and patient attitude, with a genuine desire to help children succeed.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting students in their learning.
- Experience with non-verbal communication, Makaton, or PECS (desirable but not essential).
- A relevant qualification such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, or a TA qualification (desirable).
