Choice Teachers is proud to be working with a new SEN School based in Dunstable. The school is located in the historic market town of Dunstable and provides a safe and supportive educational environment for young people aged between 5 and 18, primarily dealing with anxiety around education. The students may have various diagnoses including ASD, ADHD, FASD, anxiety, communication and interaction needs, cognition and learning needs.

The school’s vision is to create a learning environment where young people can thrive, feel supported, safe, and leave school with relevant experiences and outcomes to contribute to the wider community. The school draws inspiration from nature for their learning experiences and offers opportunities for on-site experiential learning aligned with The National Curriculum. This includes Forest School, Sensory Circuits, Physical Education, and outdoor craft.

Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with SEN
  • Assess and monitor students’ progress, adapting teaching methods as necessary
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies
  • Contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Education or related field
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
  • Overseas Teaching Qualification (if applicable)

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Enthusiastic and flexible approach to teaching
