Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
We are currently recruiting a dedicated and empathetic SEMH Teaching Assistant for a wonderful school located in the area of Kilburn, London. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students, supporting their emotional and educational development in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs.

Assist in managing challenging behaviour in the classroom and around the school.

Support students in developing emotional regulation and social skills.

Work closely with the classroom teacher and special educational needs (SEN) team to implement tailored strategies and interventions.

Encourage student engagement and help them access the curriculum.

Maintain accurate records of student progress and wellbeing.

Create a safe and supportive environment where students can thrive academically and emotionally.
What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, either in a classroom setting or other relevant environment.

A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to supporting students.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and parents.

A passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Ideally, experience with behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
