Science Teacher – Full-Time Position | Wigan
Start Date: ASAP | Potential for Permanent Placement

Choice Teachers is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Science Teacher for a full-time position at a well-regarded, Good-rated OFSTED secondary school in Wigan. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to engage and inspire students in the field of science. For the right candidate, there may be the opportunity to transition into a permanent role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured Science lessons in line with the Key Stage 3 and 4 National Curriculum.

  • Foster a stimulating classroom environment that encourages scientific enquiry and independent thinking.

  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners and learning styles.

  • Track and assess student progress, offering constructive feedback to support achievement and growth.

  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and attendance.

  • Encourage student involvement in extracurricular Science activities, such as clubs, competitions, and educational trips.

  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and leadership to support whole-school development and student success.

  • Stay current with developments in science education, integrating new technologies and strategies into teaching practice.


Requirements

  • A degree in Science, Education, or a related subject (essential).

  • PGCE with QTS or QTLS (essential).

  • Previous experience teaching Science at secondary school level in the UK.

  • Excellent classroom management and behavior strategies.

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teaching.

  • Commitment to continuous professional development and contributing to school life.
