Exciting Opportunity for nursery nurses in Hemel Hempstead!

Choice Teachers is collaborating with warm and nurturing nurseries in the Hemel who are looking for passionate and dedicated nursery nurses.

Are you passionate about early years education, the outdoors, and connecting children’s play with valuable learning experiences?

As a nursery nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to young children. Your primary responsibility will be to create a safe and stimulating environment that promotes the physical, social, and emotional development of children aged 0-5 years.

Job Duties:

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that are engaging and educational.
  • Monitor and observe children’s progress, identifying any developmental concerns.
  • Create and maintain a positive and inclusive atmosphere for children.
  • Support children’s personal care needs, including feeding, changing, and toileting.
  • Collaborate with parents and guardians to ensure effective communication and partnership.
  • Keep accurate records of children’s development and daily activities.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children, following safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, supporting colleagues and sharing best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent is preferred.
  • Valid and up-to-date DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
  • Knowledge of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework.
  • Excellent understanding of child development and age-appropriate practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Previous experience working in an early years setting.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations related to childcare.
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection policies.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Effective organisational and time management skills.
  • Passionate about supporting children’s early learning and development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Paediatric First Aid qualification.
  • Additional qualifications in Early Years Education or a relevant field.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent.

To be considered you must have:

  • DBS Certificate on the update service or be able to apply for one
  • Two professional references
  • Right to work in the UK.
