About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Media Make-Up Lecturer / Assessor to deliver high-quality training to Level 2 and Level 3 students at our partner campus in Watford.
This is a fantastic opportunity for either an experienced Further Education (FE) educator or a highly skilled freelance Media Make-Up Artist (MUA) looking to share their expertise. We offer a competitive tiered hourly rate, accommodating both industry experts stepping into teaching and fully qualified lecturers.
Key Teaching & Assessing Units
You will be responsible for leading delivery on core and specialist curriculum modules, with a specific focus on:

Face and Body Art: Teaching creative design, advanced application techniques, and conceptual imagery.

Photographic Make-Up: Preparing students for studio, editorial, and commercial lighting environments.

Camouflage Make-Up: Delivering specialised technical skills for skin concealment, scar coverage, and medical camouflage application.
What We Are Looking For

Qualifications: A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Media Make-Up, Theatrical Make-Up, or equivalent.

Teaching/Assessing Credentials: A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., AET, Cert Ed, PGCE) and/or assessing award (e.g., CAVA, TAQA, A1) is preferred to achieve the higher end of the pay scale. We welcome applications from exceptional industry candidates willing to work towards these.

Industry Experience: Proven, hands-on experience in media, film, theatre, or commercial photographic make-up.

Availability: Flexibility to pick up hours from September once timetables are locked in.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging, practical, and theoretical lessons to Level 2 and Level 3 cohorts.

Assess student portfolios, practical assessments, and coursework against awarding body criteria (e.g., VTCT, City & Guilds).

Provide constructive feedback and academic support to ensure high student success rates.

Maintain accurate tracking, grading, and compliance documentation.
