Job Duties:
The Maths teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching in the absence of the regular teacher. This includes planning and implementing engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and providing constructive feedback. The teacher will also be required to mark students’ work and maintain accurate records of their academic development.
Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must have a Degree in Maths or a related field, along with a PGCE and QTS qualifications. Previous experience in teaching Maths at the secondary level or higher is highly desirable.
Education:
A Degree in Maths or a related field is required, along with a PGCE and QTS qualifications.
Experience:
Prior experience in teaching Maths at the secondary level is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
The candidate should possess excellent communication skills, be enthusiastic about teaching, demonstrate flexibility in their approach, be punctual and reliable, inspire students to excel, show initiative in problem-solving, and have a passionate commitment to education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional qualifications in Educational Leadership or Special Educational Needs would be an advantage.
Working Conditions:
The role involves working part-time hours on a contract basis at Luton College in Bedfordshire. The teacher will be expected to adhere to the college’s policies and procedures, collaborate with colleagues, and participate in professional development activities.
