Long-Term Health & Social Care Teacher – Stevenage

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Health & Social Care Teacher to join our partner school in Stevenage for a long-term role starting in September 2024. If you’re enthusiastic about helping students understand the importance of health and social care, we’d love to hear from you!

The Role:

  • Position: Health & Social Care Teacher (KS4 & KS5)

  • Location: Stevenage

  • Start Date: September 2024

  • Contract: Long-term, full-time

  • Teaching Focus: You will be responsible for delivering Health & Social Care to KS4 and KS5 students (ages 14-18), helping them gain a deeper understanding of the health sector and social care services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons on Health & Social Care topics such as human development, health needs, and care values

  • Teach both GCSE and BTEC Health & Social Care courses

  • Assess, track, and report on student progress and achievement

  • Provide high-quality differentiation to meet the needs of students at various levels

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and interactive classroom environment

  • Support students in their preparations for exams and coursework assessments

  • Collaborate with colleagues to support students’ broader educational development

Requirements:

  • Preferably QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)

  • Strong knowledge of Health & Social Care topics, including GCSE and BTEC specifications

  • Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply)

  • Previous experience teaching KS4 and KS5 Health & Social Care

  • A passion for developing students’ understanding of the health and social care sector

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to inspire students
