Location: Cambridge
Salary: £28,385 – £41,782 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (37 hours per week)
Annual Leave: 42 days per annum

Choice Teachers are proud to be working on behalf of a leading college in Cambridge to recruit a Lecturer in Carpentry within their Construction & Building Services department. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced industry professional or qualified lecturer to inspire and develop the next generation of tradespeople.
About the Role:
As a Carpentry Lecturer, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality teaching, providing tutorial support, and ensuring students achieve their full potential. The role includes:
✔ Delivering engaging and inspirational lessons across a range of carpentry courses.
✔ Assessing students’ progress in line with awarding body requirements.
✔ Supporting learners in achieving their qualifications and career goals.
✔ Assisting with curriculum development, course planning, and industry engagement.
✔ Promoting a safe, inclusive, and dynamic learning environment.
Requirements:
✅ Essential:

A minimum Level 2 qualification in Site Carpentry.

GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

Recent and relevant industry experience in carpentry.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and IT skills.

Ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities.
✅ Desirable:

Teaching qualification (Certificate in Education, PGCE, DTLLS/DET) or willingness to work towards one.

Assessor (A1) or Internal Verifier (V1) qualifications.

Knowledge of current Carpentry curriculum requirements.

Previous experience in teaching, training, or mentoring.
