Job Title: Lead Practitioner of Science

Choice Teachers is working with a high-performing secondary school in Hackney to recruit a Lead Practitioner of Science for a September start. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced Science Teacher to drive standards, lead innovation, and support teaching and learning across the department. The school is known for its strong behaviour culture, academic focus, and inclusive ethos.
About the Role:

Lead on the development of high-quality Science teaching across KS3–KS4 (KS5 optional)

Mentor and coach teachers within the Science department to raise attainment

Contribute to curriculum design, assessment, and pedagogy across the school

Teach a reduced timetable of Science lessons (subject to specialism and experience)

Monitor data and lead interventions for underperforming students

Collaborate with SLT and subject leaders to embed best practice in teaching and learning
The Ideal Candidate Will:

Hold UK QTS and have a strong academic background in a Science discipline

Be an outstanding classroom practitioner with a record of securing excellent outcomes

Have experience in leading or mentoring colleagues

Be passionate about raising standards and developing teaching practice

Be reflective, strategic, and highly organised
