About the Role:
A thriving secondary school in Dartford, Kent, is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join their dedicated humanities department. This role offers the opportunity to deliver inspiring lessons and help students develop a strong understanding of Geography, fostering curiosity about the world and its complexities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and dynamic Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Foster a passion for Geography, helping students explore topics such as physical landscapes, global development, and sustainability
- Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national Geography curriculum
- Monitor and support students’ academic progress in Geography
- Inspire critical thinking and a global perspective among students
- Collaborate with the humanities department to maintain high teaching standards
- Participate in field trips and extracurricular activities related to Geography
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in Geography or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of the Geography curriculum and assessment practices
- Passion for teaching Geography and inspiring students to develop a love for the subject
- Effective classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to motivate and engage students of varying abilities
