Choice Teachers are seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and industry‑experienced Games Design Tutor to join its education team for a client based in E17. This role is offered on a fixed‑term contract until 3 July 2026, with the possibility of a permanent position for the right candidate.

The Role

You will deliver engaging, high‑quality teaching across games design programmes, supporting learners to develop both creative and technical skills. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, behaviour, and achievement, working collaboratively with curriculum and learner support teams.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver exciting, engaging lessons that support learner progression and relate to learners’ needs and interests
  • Promote safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding, ensuring concerns are logged and monitored via CPOMS
  • Record attendance and academic notes accurately using Arbor MIS
  • Track learner progression and achievement using allocated Google Sheets
  • Develop innovative interdepartmental and intradepartmental projects, encouraging collaboration across creative pathways
  • Use a range of assessment methods and provide outstanding, prompt feedback to inspire and motivate learners
  • Conduct bi‑termly one‑to‑one tutorials and complete individual learning plans (ILPs)
  • Facilitate enrichment opportunities, including trips, workshops, and guest speaker events throughout the academic year
  • Work towards strong learner retention and high qualification achievement rates
  • Undertake in‑house training to remain up‑to‑date with awarding body requirements and expectations
  • Support learners in preparing for their assessed end‑of‑year project

Applicants Must Have:

  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above, or equivalent (Level 2)
  • A degree or relevant qualification in Games Design or a closely related subject area
  • Outstanding teaching and communication skills, with a strong understanding of the Ofsted framework
  • The ability to be extremely organised, managing your own workload effectively and flexibly
  • A highly motivated, driven, and ambitious approach to work
  • Confidence to be assertive and effective in managing learning environments
  • A solution‑focused mindset, with the ability to respond proactively to data trends
  • A commitment to meeting targets, setting high standards of behaviour and work, and driving learner achievement
  • Empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by young adults from communities with high free school meal rates and poverty levels
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Visual scripting and/or programming skills, relevant to games design and interactive development

Desirable:

  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere) for concept art, texturing, and creative workflows
  • Professional experience within a relevant creative industry and/or as an entrepreneur
  • Experience with Autodesk Maya and/or Blender, including 3D modelling, texturing, animation, skinning, and rigging
  • Experience using Unity and/or Unreal Engine, particularly animation‑to‑engine pipelines
  • Strong drawing and art skills, both traditional and digital
