Long-Term Food Technology Teacher – Stevenage
Our partner school in Stevenage is seeking a Food Technology Teacher to join their team for a long-term role starting in September 2024. If you’re passionate about cooking, food science, and inspiring students to explore the world of food technology, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
The Role:

Position: Food Technology Teacher (KS3 & KS4, with potential KS5)

Location: Stevenage

Start Date: September 2024

Contract: Long-term, full-time

Teaching Focus: You will be responsible for delivering Food Technology across KS3 and KS4 (ages 11-16), covering topics such as nutrition, food preparation, and food science.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging and practical lessons in Food Technology

Teach GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition and provide students with the skills and knowledge to succeed
-
Foster a positive and interactive learning environment where students feel confident and excited about food technology

Assess, track, and report on student progress
-
Encourage students to develop creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills through hands-on food preparation and cooking tasks

Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective learning experiences across the department
Requirements:
-
Preferably QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)

Strong subject knowledge in Food Technology and GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition

Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply)

Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 Food Technology

A passion for food, cooking, and educating young people in this dynamic subject

Excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire students in practical and theoretical work
