Choice Teachers is a reputable education agency based in the Northwest, seeking a temporary ongoing Food Tech teacher for a secondary school in Oldham. This role is available immediately.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Food Tech Teacher with a strong background in Food, Cooking & Preparation to join our team. You will be responsible for demonstrating and guiding students through cooking processes in a safe and effective manner. Your knowledge of current dietary guidelines will also be utilised to teach students how to apply them in their everyday lives.
The successful candidate will have top-notch lesson planning skills, ensuring that all students, including those with special educational needs, are engaged and challenged. You will also provide constructive feedback on both practical and theoretical work and ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to in the kitchen environment.
We are seeking a candidate who will demonstrate outstanding classroom practise, with a strong focus on putting children at the heart of everything they do. High expectations for pupils’ achievement and behaviour are a must. You should also be committed to using high-quality and effective assessment tools to help students reach their full potential.
You will be expected to follow classroom and behaviour management policies and procedures in line with the school’s guidelines. Strong organisational and classroom management skills are essential, and we are looking for someone who is driven and determined to make a positive impact in the classroom. You should also be enthusiastic, flexible, creative, and ambitious.
Requirements:
- A valid DBS certificate on the update service.
- A teaching qualification or a good honours degree in art (PGCE, QTS, QTLS, Degree).
- Two professional references.
- The legal right to work in the UK.
