The Role
Choice Teachers are seeking a passionate and motivated English Teacher to join the school’s successful English department.
You will be teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons that develop students’ confidence, critical thinking and love of literature.
This position is ideal for a creative and enthusiastic teacher who wants to contribute to a thriving school community and make a real impact on student progress.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality English lessons for KS3 & KS4.

Inspire students through literature, language and creative writing.

Assess, track and report on student progress, ensuring all learners are supported and challenged.

Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental initiatives.

Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement and achievement.

Participate in wider school activities, clubs or interventions where required.
Requirements
Essential:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Experience teaching English at secondary level.

Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.

A genuine passion for English and supporting young people’s progress.

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
Desirable:
-
Experience teaching GCSE English Language and Literature.

Ability to support extracurricular activities such as reading clubs or writing workshops.

Strong understanding of curriculum planning and assessment.
