Job Title: English Teacher
Location: Luton, Bedfordshire
Job Type: Full-Time, Contract
Start Date: After Easter 2025
Salary: £120 – £250 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
About the Role
Choice Teachers is looking for a passionate and committed English Teacher to join an Outstanding school in Luton from after Easter 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire and engage students, fostering a love for English while helping them develop strong literacy and analytical skills.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the UK English curriculum, delivering high-quality lessons that cater to different learning abilities. You will play a key role in developing students’ confidence in reading, writing, and communication.
Key Responsibilities

Teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that challenge and support all learners.

Monitor student progress, provide feedback, and implement strategies to support individual development.

Create an inclusive learning environment that fosters a passion for literature and language.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop innovative teaching methods.

Contribute to departmental meetings, school activities, and extracurricular programmes.

Maintain high expectations for behaviour, participation, and achievement.
Essential Qualifications & Experience

Degree in English or a related subject.

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) or equivalent.

Previous experience teaching English in a secondary school setting.

Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for English.
