Company Branding: Choice Teachers is working with a mixed secondary school based in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. The school is based near a train station and is easily accessible both on the Metropolitan line as well as the Overground. The school takes children from the age of 11 through to the age of 18 and has over 1000 pupils. The School operates a two-year Key Stage 3. This allows three years for GCSE study, through a staged approach, and allows for a more personalised curriculum including a variety of qualifications on offer, generally good to suit mixed ability students. The school is over-subscribed for entries in Year 7 and has 7 forms and has a large sixth form.
Job Duties:
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English lessons to students aged 11-18
- Assess and evaluate students’ progress to provide constructive feedback
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies
- Participate in school events and extracurricular activities
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in English or related field
- PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) or equivalent
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Overseas Teaching Qualification (if applicable)
Education:
- Degree in English or related field
Experience:
- Previous experience teaching English at secondary school level
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent communication skills
- Enthusiastic and passionate about teaching
- Flexible and adaptable teaching style
- Punctual and reliable
- Inspirational and able to motivate students
- Initiative to create engaging lessons
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional qualifications in education or English literature
