Choice Teachers is working with a successful secondary school in North London to recruit a skilled and enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher with expertise in Cooking and Nutrition. About the Role:

Teaching Design & Technology with a focus on Cooking and Nutrition across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially A-Level.

Delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that promote creativity, sustainability, and practical skills.

Ensuring appropriate health and safety measures are in place when working with machinery and equipment.

Developing schemes of work and lesson plans that meet both internal and external standards.

Supporting the development of the Design & Technology curriculum, including planning trips, promoting recycling, and teaching the importance of sustainability.

Monitoring and assessing students’ progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing improvement strategies.

Maintaining high standards of behaviour, punctuality, and work ethic within the classroom.

Working collaboratively with the Head of Department and DT Technician to ensure effective use of resources and machinery.

Taking part in extracurricular activities, clubs, and initiatives to enhance students’ learning experience.
Candidate Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Design & Technology, Food Technology, or a related field.

Experience teaching Cooking and Nutrition at secondary school level.

Knowledge of health and safety standards within a workshop environment.

Excellent communication skills and a passion for developing young people’s skills and creativity.

Ability to plan, deliver and assess lessons that cater to a diverse range of learning needs.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
