Job Title: Curriculum Lead For RE

Location: Chesham, Buckinghamshire

Job Type: Permanent, expected to work full-time hours

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £100 – £250 per day (Main and Upper pay Scale, Fringe, plus TLR)

Qualifications: QTS, PGCE

Job Duties:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum for Religious Education (RE) in accordance with national guidelines and school policies
  • Create engaging lesson plans and teaching materials that cater to the diverse learning needs of students
  • Deliver high-quality RE lessons, ensuring all students are actively engaged and making progress
  • Assess and evaluate students’ performance and provide constructive feedback to support their learning and development
  • Collaborate with other teachers and stakeholders to promote a cohesive approach to RE education
  • Stay updated with the latest educational practises and developments in RE to enhance teaching methods
  • Organise and participate in school events, such as assemblies, religious celebrations, and parent-teacher meetings
  • Maintain accurate records of students’ progress, attendance, and any relevant documentation
  • Support and mentor other teachers in delivering effective RE lessons

Desired Qualifications, Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Religious Education or a related subject
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment requirements for RE
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and inspire students
  • Punctuality and commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Confidence in delivering lessons and managing classroom behaviour
  • Additional relevant qualifications or certifications in RE or Education
  • Experience in curriculum development or leadership roles
  • Knowledge of different teaching methodologies and strategies for RE

Working Conditions:

The Curriculum Lead for RE will work in a school setting. The role is full-time and permanent, requiring a commitment to working standard hours. The work environment will involve regular interaction with students, colleagues, and other stakeholders. The Curriculum Lead may occasionally participate in school events and meetings outside regular hours.
