Cover Supervisor
Location: Finsbury Park, North London
Job Type: Flexible / Part-Time / Full Days / Part Days
Salary: Up to £90 per full day – pro rata for shorter shifts

Choice Teachers are currently working with secondary schools in and around Finsbury Park who are looking for confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to provide flexible classroom cover.
We have a mixture of work available, including full school days, morning or afternoon cover, part-day bookings and shorter shifts of just a few hours. This makes the role ideal for candidates looking for flexible work that can fit around other commitments.
We also receive a high number of same-day bookings, so candidates who are available to take morning calls and work at short notice are particularly encouraged to apply.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Graduate, Unqualified Teacher, Classroom Supervisor, Tutor, Sports Coach or Youth Worker who is confident working with secondary-aged students.
About the Cover Supervisor Role
- Supervise KS3 and KS4 classes during teacher absence
- Deliver pre-planned work set by the classroom teacher
- Keep students engaged, focused and on task
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively
- Follow the school’s behaviour and safeguarding procedures
- Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons
- Work across different subjects depending on school requirements
- Accept bookings ranging from a few hours to full school days
Flexible Working Available

- Full-day Cover Supervisor bookings
- Morning-only shifts
- Afternoon-only shifts
- Half-day and part-day work
- Shorter shifts of a couple of hours
- Same-day morning cover
- Pre-booked and ongoing Cover Supervisor placements

The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience working with young people
- Ideally have experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Classroom Supervisor, Tutor, Sports Coach, Youth Worker or similar
- Be confident managing groups of secondary-aged students
- Have strong behaviour management skills
- Be reliable, punctual and professional
- Be comfortable following pre-set lesson plans
- Be flexible and able to take morning calls for same-day work where possible
- Have a genuine interest in education and supporting young people
Previous Cover Supervisor experience is desirable but not essential for candidates with strong transferable experience working with young people.
