Brickwork Lecturer | Urgent Full-Time Vacancy

Location: Luton

Salary: Competitive (Negotiable based on teaching & trade experience)

Hours: Mon–Thu (08:30–17:00), Fri (08:30–16:30)

Contract: Full-time, Agency (ASAP Start)

Are you a qualified educator with a background in the trowel trades? Choice Teachers is currently seeking a Brickwork Lecturer for an immediate start at West Herts College (Luton). We are specifically looking for professionals who can hit the ground running in a workshop environment. While we value site experience, this role requires a candidate who is either a qualified teacher or has significant experience in a training/assessing capacity.

Essential Requirements (Please read carefully):

  • Qualifications: You must hold a Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Brickwork (or equivalent).

  • Teaching/Assessing: Ideally, you will hold a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, AET/PTLLS) or an Assessor’s Award (A1/TAQA).

  • Experience: Proven experience delivering curriculum to Level 1, 2, or 3 learners is highly desirable. We will consider time-served Bricklayers with substantial experience mentoring apprentices, provided you are willing to work towards a teaching qualification immediately.

  • Availability: Must be available for an immediate start on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-standard practical workshops and theoretical classroom sessions.

  • Assess learner progress and prepare students for industry-standard qualifications.

  • Maintain workshop safety and manage student behaviour effectively.

  • Work collaboratively within a dedicated Construction department to meet enrolment and achievement targets.

Why Move into Education?

  • Stability: A consistent Monday to Friday schedule—no more chasing site work or battling the weather.

  • Early Finish: Every Friday finishes at 16:30.

  • Impact: Take the lead in training the next generation of bricklayers in a modern, well-equipped facility.

How to Apply:

If you have the trade expertise and the educational background required to lead a classroom, please submit your CV today.

Please note: Applicants without a Level 3 trade qualification or relevant teaching/mentoring experience will not be considered for this specific role.
