Choice Teachers are recruiting a full-time Art Teacher with Textiles experience on behalf of a Secondary School in Stockport, to start from September 2026 on a temporary, long-term basis.

As a Supply Teacher, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuity of education and supervision for students in the absence of their regular teacher. We are looking for a confident, dynamic Art Teacher who will join a high achieving school supported by a strong senior leadership team.

Requirements:

  • DBS Certificate on the update service
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE with QTS or QTLS)
  • Two professional references
  • Right to work in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons in  Art and Textiles ensuring students are challenged and engaged.
  • Incorporate creative and interactive teaching methods to inspire students and enhance their artistic abilities.
  • Provide constructive feedback on both practical and theoretical work, encouraging student progress and self-reflexion.
  • Support and adapt lessons for students with SEN, including those with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH).
  • Uphold classroom and behaviour management policies, fostering a safe and respectful learning atmosphere.
  • Maintain high expectations for student achievement, behaviour, and creativity, promoting their full potential.
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed in practical activities, especially in photography labs or art studios.
  • Collaborate with other staff members and adhere to the school’s guidelines for assessments and reporting.
