Art Teacher — Long-Term Role
Location: Peterborough
Secondary School | Start ASAP / Negotiable

A secondary school in Peterborough is seeking a talented and committed Art Teacher to join their team on a long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive school environment that values creativity and visual expression as part of a broad and balanced curriculum.

The Role

You will teach Art across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 desirable but not essential), delivering engaging lessons that develop students’ technical skills, creativity, and critical understanding of art and design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Art lessons in line with the national curriculum

  • Encourage creativity, experimentation, and independent thinking

  • Prepare students for coursework and examinations

  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress

  • Maintain a safe and organised classroom and studio environment

  • Contribute to displays, exhibitions, and enrichment activities

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) — essential

  • Specialism in Art or Art & Design

  • Experience teaching in a UK secondary school

  • Strong classroom management skills

  • A passion for inspiring young people through the visual arts
