As an A-Level Sociology Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive lessons that cover the A-Level Sociology curriculum. You will inspire students to think critically about society, culture, and human behavior, preparing them for further education and careers in sociology and related fields.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and high-quality Sociology lessons to A-Level students, using a range of teaching methods.
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans, assessments, and coursework in line with the Sociology syllabus.
- Provide individualized support to students to help them achieve their academic potential.
- Track student progress, offering feedback and extra support as needed.
- Contribute to the Sociology department through active collaboration in curriculum development and enrichment activities.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment, encouraging student participation and debate.
Essential Requirements:
- A degree in Sociology or a closely related field.
- Teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of Sociology A-Level syllabus and its key topics, such as social stratification, research methods, culture, identity, and power.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Passion for teaching and motivating students to succeed.
- Commitment to inclusive education and continuous professional development.
Experience: Previous teaching experience at A-Level is essential
Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and engage students from various backgrounds.
Passion: A genuine interest in sociology and a commitment to fostering students’ curiosity about social structures, inequalities, and the broader world.
Full clean driving license is preferred.
