About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Media Make-Up Lecturer / Assessor to deliver high-quality training to Level 2 and Level 3 students at West Herts College’s Watford campus.
This temporary cover role requires an individual who holds Level 2 and Level 3 Media Make-Up qualifications alongside an assessing award. Candidates must possess essential course tutor monitoring and tracking experience, as well as a strong command of theory, anatomy, and physiology.
Key Teaching & Assessing Units
You will be responsible for leading delivery on core and specialist curriculum modules, with a specific focus on:

Face and Body Art: Teaching creative design, advanced application techniques, and conceptual imagery.

Theory, Anatomy & Physiology: Delivering essential theoretical knowledge underpinning media make-up.

Practical Assessing: Conducting in-class assessments and managing student progress.
What We Are Looking For

Qualifications: Level 2 and Level 3 Media Make-Up qualifications are essential.

Assessing & Teaching Credentials: An official assessors award is required, alongside a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., AET, Cert Ed, PGCE) preferred to achieve the higher end of the pay scale.

Experience: Essential course tutor monitoring and tracking experience.

Availability: Ability to cover urgent requirements commencing Monday, 28th September 2026, specifically covering Tuesdays (10:30 – 13:00) and Thursdays (08:30 – 13:00).
Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging practical and theoretical lessons, including face and body art.

Assess students directly within the classroom environment and support parent/carer calls if required.

Maintain accurate tracking, grading, monitoring, and compliance documentation.

Participate in a brief 15–30 minute debrief at the end of teaching sessions to review progress and address any concerns.
Vetting & Safeguarding Requirements
