Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Luton, Bedfordshire (Easily commutable from Watford, Hemel Hempstead, St Albans, Aylesbury, and surrounding areas)

About the Role:
Choice Teachers is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Luton. The ideal candidate will have SEN experience and be passionate about supporting students with additional needs. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and rewarding environment where you will make a positive impact on students’ educational journey. A driving license is preferred for ease of travel to the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to SEN students, helping them to access the curriculum.
- Work closely with the class teacher to plan and deliver tailored learning activities.
- Support students with SEN in their personal, social, and emotional development.
- Assist with behavior management and implement strategies to support students’ individual needs.
- Help monitor and assess students’ progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
- Foster an inclusive, positive, and safe learning environment for all students.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and support their development.
Requirements:
- Previous SEN experience is required, with a strong understanding of different learning needs.
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary setting is essential.
- Ability to support students with various SEN including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
- Driving license preferred for commuting to Luton.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A current enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
- A proactive, patient, and compassionate approach to supporting students.

The role is easily commutable from surrounding areas, including Watford, Hemel Hempstead, St Albans, and Aylesbury, making it an ideal position for those living nearby.
