Choice Teachers is seeking a Deputy Director of Learning for Mathematics in Bacup Lancashire with a strong track record of raising standards and improving student outcomes. We are eager to hear from talented middle leaders ready to broaden their experience or ambitious, outstanding teachers seeking their first middle leadership role.

The position is based at a renowned secondary academy in Bacup, offering a competitive salary aligned with the scale and responsibilities of this leadership role from day one.

As an experienced educator, you will have the opportunity to develop an engaging and inclusive curriculum, tailored to meet the diverse needs of learners, and bring the drive to make a meaningful impact on students’ lives. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic team player with exceptional organizational and motivational abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Curriculum Development: Create and implement dynamic lesson plans and a curriculum that inspires and supports all learners, including those with SEN, SEMH, ASD, and ADHD.
  • Leadership and Team Building: Support and guide colleagues to achieve departmental and whole-school targets, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Driving Excellence: Deliver consistent, outstanding teaching and lead initiatives to enhance student attainment and progress.
  • Innovation and Engagement: Develop creative teaching strategies to captivate learners and promote sustained academic achievement

 

Requirements:

  • A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven ability to teach Mathematics to GCSE standard.
  • Strong experience in coaching and motivating staff to meet individual and collective goals.
  • A record of achieving exceptional student attainment and progress.
  • A commitment to innovation and inclusion in education.
