An inclusive, forward-thinking primary school in Stevenage is looking for a dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join their team from November 2025.The school is set in a beautiful location alongside a nature reserve and features an orchard and woodland, offering pupils rich opportunities for outdoor and experiential learning. The Role

Plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons to a Year 1 class, aligned with the national curriculum

Support the transition from EYFS to Key Stage 1, focusing on early phonics, literacy and numeracy

Create a nurturing classroom environment that promotes independence and curiosity
-
Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs
-
Build positive relationships with parents and contribute to wider school life and development
✔️ You Will Need
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent experience teaching in Year 1 or Key Stage 1

A caring, proactive approach and commitment to pupil wellbeing and progress

Strong phonics knowledge (e.g. Little Wandle or similar schemes)

Excellent classroom management and organisational skills

An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
