Teaching Assistant – Hitchin
Location: Hitchin, Hertfordshire
Contract Type: Temporary / Ongoing Supply
Start Date: Immediate / As soon as possible
Pay: 70 – 80 a day
About the Role:
Choice Teachers are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join one of our friendly and supportive partner schools in Hitchin. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about education who enjoys making a positive impact on pupils’ learning and wellbeing.
You will be working on a temporary basis, providing classroom support across EYFS, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, depending on your experience and the needs of the school.

Responsibilities:

Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.

Work with pupils individually or in small groups to boost learning and confidence.

Assist with classroom preparation, behaviour management, and daily routines.

Provide additional support to pupils with SEND or those needing extra guidance.

Promote a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment.
Requirements:

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a school-based support role (preferred).

A patient, caring, and adaptable attitude.

A genuine passion for supporting children’s education and development.

Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).

Reliable, flexible, and available to work in the Hitchin area.
