Graduate Teaching Assistant
Salary: £80–£90 per day
Location: Sutton
Summary
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team in Sutton. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates who are passionate about education and looking to gain valuable classroom experience while making a real difference in students’ lives. You will play a key role in supporting individual learners and small groups to help them access learning effectively and thrive in a nurturing, purposeful environment.
Main Responsibilities
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

Supporting identified students in 1:1, group, or whole-class settings to ensure effective learning support

Assisting with the development of tailored resources, lesson plans, and strategies to meet individual learning needs

Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback to teaching staff

Leading small-group interventions and targeted support sessions

Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment

Supporting with behaviour management in line with school policy
-
Promoting high expectations and helping to uphold standards of conduct and academic engagement

Attending to students’ personal and learning needs when required

Participating in school activities and contributing to the wider school community
Qualifications & Experience
We would love to hear from you if you have:

A degree or equivalent qualification in any subject

A genuine interest in education and supporting young people

Some understanding of strategies for supporting students with additional or complex needs

Awareness of the challenges faced by young people from disadvantaged backgrounds
-
Experience working or volunteering with children or young people in an educational setting (preferred)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
A proactive, adaptable, and empathetic approach
