Choice Teachers are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a flexible day-to-day basis at a specialist school in Shepherd’s Bush. The Avenue School supports children and young people with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASC), communication difficulties, and moderate learning needs.
This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting pupils with SEN to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
About the Role

Support students with special educational needs in classroom settings

Provide one-to-one or small-group assistance under teacher guidance

Help manage behaviour and create a calm, supportive learning atmosphere

Assist with personal care when needed (training provided)

Work on a day-to-day, flexible basis — ideal for those seeking varied and rewarding work

Typical school hours: 8:00am – 3:30pm (with consultants available from 6:30am for daily bookings)
The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience supporting children or young people with SEN (in schools or similar settings)

Be patient, understanding, and committed to helping pupils progress

Be adaptable and able to work collaboratively within a team

Hold a valid DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
