Role Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic French Teacher to join the Modern Foreign Languages team and deliver high-quality French lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious teacher who wants to contribute to a vibrant, supportive school community and help students unlock their potential.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare and teach engaging French lessons that motivate and challenge learners in Years 7–11.

Promote and deliver GCSE French to students aiming for strong outcomes and progress.

Foster a positive learning environment where all students are encouraged, supported and able to achieve.

Monitor and assess student progress, provide feedback and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.

Contribute to the wider life of the school: participate in departmental meetings, extracurricular language activities and school events.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to drive continuous improvement and share effective practice.
Person Specification
Essential
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Strong subject knowledge in French with the ability to deliver lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Ability to engage and motivate students from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities.

Excellent classroom management skills and high expectations of behaviour and achievement.

A team player who is adaptable, proactive and committed to continuous professional development.

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable
-
Experience teaching French at GCSE level.

Experience of contributing to curriculum development within a languages department.

A clear track record of improving performance and outcomes in a modern languages context.
