Design & Technology Teacher – Luton
Start Date: January 2026 (or sooner if available)

Choice Teachers are working with a high-performing secondary school in Luton who are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Design & Technology Teacher to join their successful department.
The school has excellent facilities, a supportive leadership team, and a strong focus on innovation within STEM subjects. The Design & Technology department is well resourced, offering students access to modern equipment including 3D printers, laser cutters, and CAD software.
About the Role:
We are looking for a teacher with a passion for Design & Technology — ideally with a specialism in Engineering, though applications from teachers of other DT specialisms such as Product Design, Graphics, Resistant Materials or Electronics are warmly welcomed.
Responsibilities include:

Delivering engaging and practical DT lessons across KS3 and KS4

Contributing to curriculum planning, assessment, and departmental development

Encouraging creativity, innovation and problem-solving skills in the classroom

Maintaining a safe and positive workshop environment

Supporting students of all abilities to achieve their full potential
The ideal candidate will:

Hold QTS or QTLS and have experience teaching DT or Engineering in UK secondary schools

Demonstrate strong classroom management and excellent subject knowledge

Be confident using workshop tools and technologies (CAD/CAM experience desirable)

Be a reflective practitioner who is passionate about inspiring young people in STEM
