We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a wonderful and inclusive team. Key Responsibilities:

One-to-One & Small Group Support: Offer hands-on, personalized support to secondary school students with a variety of SEN. Provide both one-to-one and small group assistance, helping students thrive academically and emotionally within the classroom.

Classroom Management: Play a key role in maintaining a positive, inclusive atmosphere in secondary school classrooms. Support teachers with behaviour management and ensure students have the focus and support they need to learn effectively.

Adapting Teaching Materials: Work closely with teachers to modify lesson plans and materials to meet the diverse needs of secondary students. Help make learning accessible and engaging for all students, ensuring each individual is supported in the way that works best for them.

Tracking Progress: Regularly monitor and assess the academic, emotional, and behavioural progress of secondary school students. Provide valuable feedback to teachers to inform the planning of further individualized support.

Collaboration & Support: Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals (e.g., therapists) to ensure each student’s social, emotional, and educational needs are fully supported.

Promoting Well-being: Create a warm and safe learning environment where secondary students feel valued, confident, and encouraged to succeed academically and personally.
Requirements:

Relevant Qualifications: A Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent). Experience in SEN, Child Development, or related fields is a plus.

Classroom Experience: Proven experience or training working with secondary school students, ideally in an SEN or educational setting.

Enhanced DBS: A valid enhanced DBS check (on the update system) is required for this role.

Location Flexibility: Willingness to travel across the South West London area to support different secondary schools and students.

Passion for SEN: A deep passion for supporting secondary school students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities.
