SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT with Team Teach – to support within SEN / MAINSTREAM SCHOOLS

We are seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to assist in both SEN schools and mainstream schools across Wakefield. You will be supporting schools in their time of need. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners, and a great way to start and return to a career in Education.
Your Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with a range of SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or social/emotional needs).

Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual needs.

Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Support the class teacher in managing behaviour and maintaining classroom routines.

Monitor student progress and contribute to individual education plans (IEPs).

Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
What We’re Looking For:
-
Previous experience working with children with SEN (in a school or similar setting) is highly desirable.

A nurturing and resilient approach, with excellent communication skills.

A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
-
Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant Certificate, or similar) are advantageous.

A flexible team player who can adapt to the needs of the school and pupils.
