A specialist school in Dunstable is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join their experienced team from September 2025. The successful candidate will have experience working with children with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and moderate learning difficulties. You will be joining a nurturing environment where creativity, flexibility, and a strong commitment to pupil progress are key.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to pupils’ EHCPs and individual needs

Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment

Work closely with support staff, therapists, and families to ensure consistency and progress
-
Use a range of strategies to manage behaviour and promote emotional wellbeing
-
Monitor and assess progress, adapting plans and targets accordingly
-
Participate in annual reviews and contribute to IEPs/EHCP meetings
About You:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
-
Experience teaching pupils with SEND (in mainstream or specialist settings)
-
Strong understanding of strategies for teaching pupils with autism and complex needs
-
Positive, patient, and resilient approach to supporting young people
-
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
-
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
