About the Role
An ambitious and forward-thinking secondary school in Northampton is seeking a Science Teacher to join their team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach General Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to specialise in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics at GCSE level depending on your strengths and interests.
You’ll be joining a well-resourced and supportive Science department that places a strong emphasis on collaborative planning, academic rigour, and student engagement.
Responsibilities

Deliver engaging and well-structured Science lessons across KS3 and KS4

Teach Biology, Chemistry, and Physics as part of a broad and balanced curriculum

Prepare students for GCSE Science exams, providing feedback and intervention where needed

Monitor, assess, and report on student progress

Contribute to the development of schemes of work and enrichment opportunities

Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment, including lab safety practices
✔️ Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Experience teaching Science in a UK secondary school, including at GCSE level

Strong subject knowledge in at least one science discipline

A passion for fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of science

Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
