Religious Education Teacher – Catholic Secondary School (Short‑Term Cover)
Location: Northeast London/Essex
Start Date: February Half Term
End Date: Easter
Contract: Full‑time, Temporary
Salary: Paid to scale or agency rate equivalent
Choice Teachers is working in partnership with a well‑regarded Catholic secondary school seeking an enthusiastic Religious Education Teacher to provide short‑term cover from February half term through to the Easter break.
The successful teacher will deliver Religious Education across KS3 and KS4, maintaining continuity of learning and supporting the school’s strong Catholic ethos.
Role Responsibilities
- Teaching RE to KS3 and KS4 classes
- Delivering lessons in line with existing schemes of work
- Maintaining high standards of behaviour and engagement
- Marking and assessment in line with school policies
- Upholding and supporting the Catholic ethos and mission of the school
- Working collaboratively with the RE department
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Solid subject knowledge in Religious Education
- Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 students
- Ability to support the Catholic character of the school
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
- Familiarity with the Catholic Curriculum Directory
- Ability to deliver high‑quality lessons with short‑term planning
