About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Quality Assurance Lead to support the delivery and development of high-quality apprenticeships and employer-based training across our curriculum provision.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Apprenticeship Manager to maintain quality and compliance across all apprenticeship and employer-based training programmes.
  • Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of curriculum and delivery approaches.
  • Lead and implement internal quality assurance (IQA) processes in line with the college’s quality policies.
  • Support the development and quality management of all employer-engaged training initiatives.
  • Collaborate with managers and heads of department to ensure a consistent, high-quality experience for learners and employers.
  • Line manage a caseload of Trainer Assessors, ensuring effective delivery and promoting best practice.
  • Promote understanding and application of Apprenticeship Standards across the delivery team.
  • Coordinate external quality assurance visits and manage End Point Assessment planning and readiness.
  • Contribute to the department’s self-assessment reports and quality improvement planning activities.
  • Act as a main point of contact for employers and apprentices, providing regular updates and building strong working relationships.

Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will ideally need to demonstrate:

  • A Level 3 vocational qualification relevant to the subject area, with evidence of continued professional development (CPD).
  • A Level 3 Assessor qualification, such as TAQA, A1, or equivalent.
  • A Level 3 Internal Quality Assurance qualification (e.g. Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice).
  • A Level 4 qualification in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (or equivalent).

Preferred experience:

  • Experience of training and assessing within a Further Education or training environment.
  • Recent vocational experience or history of continuous professional development in a relevant industry.
  • Recent assessing experience in the relevant curriculum area.
