Choice Teachers are looking to appoint a PE Teacher to work in fantastic school in Slough and be apart of a successful PE team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about Physical Education and committed to making a difference to the students. The ideal candidate will teach engaging lessons which will permit students to appreciate the importance of the subject and develop the skills they need for life.
The PE Department:
We have a broad offering at KS4, with students able to select either GCSE or BTEC Tech award. In addition to this, the PE department support Health and Social Care to collaborate effectively. Our extra-curricular timetable is hugely popular, and we have formed great links with external coaches to enrich the curriculum even further for our students.
the progress 8 scores have been historically strong in both GCSE and BTEC, Results at KS5 for BTEC Level 3 have consistently been the strongest amongst the vocational courses we offer.
CPD within the school and department is strong and the school is committed to growing and developing people and has a strong culture of growing aspiring senior leaders. This is reflected in the significant number of our leadership team who have been ‘home grown’.
The School is heavily oversubscribed, and continues to expand due to the strong reputation the school, not only an ‘Outstanding’ place to learn, but an amazing place to work.
We are looking for a passionate individual to work as part of our friendly, dedicated PE department, to further enhance the support and guidance offered to our young people. If successful, you would facilitate and encourage learning which enables student to achieve high standards: to share and support the corporate responsibility for the well-being, education, and discipline of all students.
The successful candidate will:
- Be an outstanding teacher of PE teaching up to GCSE Level
- Have a sound understanding of PE
- Provide dynamic and inspiring lessons
- Ensure students are at the centre of planning and teaching
- Focus on teaching and learning
- Provide learning with a focus on development
- Provide students with a full curriculum
- Engage and empower students with the skills to thrive as independent learners
- Contribute to department planning for learning; this includes writing schemes of work or long-term plans and creating and sharing resources
