Temporary Maths Teacher Required – Bolton

Choice Teachers are recruiting a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Maths Teacher for a temporary position at a secondary school in Bolton.

Please note: a degree in Mathematics and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) are essential requirements for this position.

Due to the school’s specific requirements, applicants must hold both a Maths degree and QTS to be considered. A PGCE is also highly desirable.

The role will involve:

• Planning and delivering engaging Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Teaching a range of topics from the secondary Maths curriculum
• Preparing pupils for assessments and GCSE examinations
• Assessing progress and providing constructive feedback
• Adapting lessons to meet different learning needs and abilities
• Maintaining positive behaviour and a productive learning environment
• Working closely with the school’s Maths department
• Following all safeguarding and school policies

The successful Maths Teacher must:

• Hold a degree specifically in Mathematics – essential
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
• Ideally hold a PGCE
• Have strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 Maths curriculum
• Have experience teaching Maths within a UK secondary school
• Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour-management skills
• Be organised, reliable and confident in the classroom
• Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
