College Law Lecturer and Law HE Programme Manager

Choice Teachers are seeking a dedicated and experienced Law Lecturer to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, a strong legal background, and the ability to inspire and mentor students. This role involves delivering high-quality lectures, conducting seminars, and contributing to the development of the law curriculum. We are looking for people who are passionate about teaching, and who want to impact young peoples lives

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver engaging lectures and seminars in various areas of law.
  • Develop and update course materials and syllabus.
  • Assess student progress through assignments, exams, and practical activities.
  • Provide academic advising and support to students.
  • Conduct and publish original research in relevant areas of law.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and other academic activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on research projects and academic initiatives.
  • Contribute to the Law Department’s outreach and community engagement efforts.

Full clean driving licence is preferred

Necessities

  • Experience in teaching law (FE/HE level) within a college / university setting
  • Should be very knowledgeable and qualified in the subject area
  • Experience of managing / leading a programme
  • Understand the FE and HE sector
  • Knowledge of assessment / quality assurances processes such as – sampling plans / standardisation processes / Internal verification standards experience / module board expectations

The relevant experience and qualifications are necessary

The Law Lecturer will be responsible for delivering high-quality lectures and seminars to students, providing guidance and support in their academic development, preparing course materials and assessments, conducting research in the field of law, and staying up-to-date with legal developments.

Full clean driving lisence is preferred

To be considered you need:

  • DBS Certificate on the update service or be able to apply for one
  • Two professional references (MINIMUM)
  • Right to work in the UK

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Passion for teaching and inspiring students
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to different teaching styles
  • Strong initiative and ability to take the lead in academic settings

Full clean driving licence is preferred

Work hours may vary depending on college schedule. May involve standing for extended periods.
