Salary: £21,041.65 – £24,893.53 per annum actual salary (pro-rata for term-time only, based on full-time equivalent £24,014 – £28,410 per annum)
Contract: Fixed Term (up to 1 January 2026)
Hours: 37 hours per week, term-time only
About the Role
Choice Teachers, in partnership with a leading college in Cambridge, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Instructor – Supported Learning to join their team. This role involves delivering training and assessment across a broad range of courses and vocational options for learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting learners to achieve their potential, monitoring their progress, and maintaining accurate assessment records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach, supervise, and assess learners across SEND programmes at various levels, including pre-entry.
- Plan and organize assessment opportunities in line with awarding body requirements.
- Monitor learner progress, create action plans, and maintain assessment records.
- Collaborate with colleagues, employers, and learners to provide feedback and progress reports.
- Prepare resources and maintain an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
- Participate in recruitment events, College Open Days, and special activities.
- Work collaboratively on college initiatives and contribute to achieving faculty financial targets.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Minimum Level 2 qualification in English and Maths (or ability to pass assessment).
- Significant experience working with learners with a range of learning disabilities.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Willingness to deliver sessions in areas such as hospitality, catering, art, woodwork, and sports.
Desirable:
- Teaching qualification or Assessor Award.
- Experience delivering training at entry level to Level 1.
- Knowledge of vocational qualifications and progression routes for entry-level learners.
- Current Health & Safety knowledge and ability to write risk assessments.
