Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools in the Halifax Area
Location: Halifax & surrounding areas
Contract Type: Supply / Temporary (with potential for long-term placements)
Pay: Competitive daily rate (based on experience)
About the Role
Choice Teachers are seeking confident, proactive, and dedicated Cover Supervisors to work within our partner secondary schools across Halifax and the surrounding area.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with classroom experience and strong behaviour management skills who are passionate about supporting young people’s learning across a variety of subjects.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom to deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the class teacher, maintaining engagement and a positive learning environment throughout the school day.

We are looking for Cover Supervisors who can:

Demonstrate a strong classroom presence that mirrors that of a qualified teacher.

Communicate effectively with students and staff, showing a high standard of spoken and written English.

⚖️ Exhibit proven behaviour management experience and confidence in maintaining discipline.

Adapt to teaching a range of subjects, not just one specialism.

Drive or live locally within easy reach of secondary schools in the Halifax area.

Requirements

Proven classroom experience (minimum 3–6 months)

Strong behaviour management and communication skills

Excellent standard of English

Ability to deliver pre-planned lessons across multiple subjects

Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
