Choice Teachers are working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Bury to recruit a dedicated and passionate English Teacher. This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who is committed to delivering engaging English lessons and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.
The school delivers a broad, balanced, and ambitious English curriculum across KS3 and KS4, designed to develop students’ reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills while fostering a genuine love of literature and language.
About the Role
You will deliver high-quality English lessons that enable students to:

Develop strong reading, writing, and communication skills

Analyse a range of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and drama texts

Build confidence in spoken language and written expression

Prepare effectively for assessments and examinations

Engage critically with language, structure, and meaning
Key Responsibilities
-
Deliver engaging and well-structured English lessons across KS3 and KS4
-
Plan, assess, and adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners
-
Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment

Track pupil progress and provide constructive feedback

Work collaboratively with the English department and wider school team
What We’re Looking For
-
A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
-
Experience teaching English at secondary level
-
Strong classroom management and communication skills
-
The ability to motivate, challenge, and support learners of varying abilities
-
A proactive and professional approach to teaching
Requirements

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply – £53.50)

Right to work in the UK
